Alpental Barrio Privado is nested in the beautiful Chontabamba valley, 5 minutes west of the City of Oxapampa.
Oxapampa is located in the Central High Jungle of Peru (altitude: 1800 meters above sea level), 250 miles east of Lima (capital of Peru). The road is paved all the way to Oxapampa. The total travel time is 8 hrs by car and 9.5 hrs by bus. There are several daily bus services from Lima to Oxapampa.
This area has been recognized by the UNESCO as a world Biosphere Reserve, a place that seeks to reconcile conservation of biological and cultural diversity and economic and social development through partnerships between people and nature.
